This tour offers you to be taken back to the time of nomadic life, the great opportunity to discover the celestial mountains magnificent land that is found in Central Asia. During this trip you will enjoy the untouched places wild nature and remarkable ancient highlights. The whole tour is passing through the impressive Tian Shan massif, goes along the Great Silk Way. You will visit Son Kul Lake, situated on a high plateau in the centre of Kyrgyzstan (3013m. above sea level), as well as the picturesque the world's second largest alpine lake Issyk-Kul.
Tour summary:
Day 1: Bishkek - Issyk Kul Lake
You will be collected by your guide from Manas International Airport and accompanied to Bishkek. The drive from the Airport to Bishkek will take half an hour. You will start the day in Bishkek with a nice breakfast. After breakfast you will be transferred (200 km.). On the way, we will visit the minaret, which is dated the 11th c. A. D. - Burana Tower and the open air museum of Balbans - stone warriors that are situated nearby. After having traditional lunch, we go on our way to the lake. The Celestial Issyk Kul Lake is the 2nd largest alpine lake in the world; it is situated at the altitude of 1608 m. above sea level. The Lake is also called "the pearl of Tien - Shan". After our arrival in the Hotel you will have a rest on the northern shore of the lake where you can lie on the warm sandy beach or swim in the lake. Lake Issyk Kul possesses curative qualities due to the salty water. Your dinner will be served at 7 o'clock in the evening.
Day 2: Issyk Kul Lake - Karakol
This day starts with a nice breakfast at 8 o'clock in the morning. Till 12 p.m. you have time for leisure or to swim in the lake. After that, we will start your trip to Karakol city by car. The distance of our today's way is 200 km. In Cholpon - Ata, we will make a short halt to visit ancient stone inscriptions (dating back to 800 B.C.), and the local museum that will uncover for you the history of Issik - Kul. During the trip at 12 o'clock, we will have one more stop to enjoy lunch in a relaxed atmosphere. But before continuing our way along the northern shore of the sparkling pearl of Central Asia to Karakol town, you will be able to enjoy to the beauty of the lake during one hour cruise on a steam boat. Traditional dinner will be served at 8 o'clock in the evening. Overnight stay is in the Guesthouse in Karakol.
Day 3: Karakol - Tamga
Your breakfast will be served at 8 o'clock in the morning. This morning will be devoted to a guided sightseeing tour in Karakol. First of all we will visit the Dungan mosque that was constructed at the beginning of the 20th c. It is built in Chinese style without using a single metal nail. This will be followed by the visit of the old wooden Orthodox Holy Trinity Cathedral. You will visit also the museum of Prjevalsky, who was one greatest explorers of the world. Prjevalsky biggest success: the discovery of more than 4000 animals, including the Horse of Prejevalsky and the crossing of the great desert Taklamakan. This day sightseeing Tour will be ended with lunch. At 1 p.m. we leave Karakol and start our way (30km) to the gorge of 7 red rocks - the impressive Jeti Oguz. You will see the Broken Heart Mountain and your guide will tell you a beautiful story about it. There is Sanatorium where you can take a hydro shower or get a massage. Then we go to explore the Jeti Oguz valley:Yuri Gagarin's holidays house, yurts, alpine vegetation or the Valley of Chong Kyzyl Suu with its thermal mineral springs and geophysics station constructed in 1948. After that is transfer to Tamga. In the 13th century, in Tamga the Tibetan monks lived. In the Tamga Guesthouse dinner will be served. This night you will also spend in Tamga. Sauna is optional.
Day 4: Tamga - Bokonbaiva - Kochkorka (120km.)
Breakfast is at 9 o'clock in the morning. Till 12 o'clock you have time to relax on the southern beach of the Issyk Kul Lake or to walk around Tamga village. Then, we start our trip to Kochkorka village by car. Our route passes through Bokonbaevo village, where we will have our lunch. We will stop in the house of a local eagle-hunter (berkutchi in Kyrgyz). He hunts with the help of eagles for hares and foxes and some other animals; it is traditional way of nomads hunting. The hunting show with the birds of prey can be arranged. After that, we keep on our way via the Orto-Tokoi water reservoir to Kochkor. In the Village of Kochkor, you will visit particularly nice souvenir shop and you will see show that uncovers for you the secrets of traditional Kyrgyz felt carpets production. During this felt show you even can create your own carpet. This day traditional dinner in the local family will be accompanied with national music performance. Night is in the Kochkor guesthouse.
Day 5: Kochkorka - Son Kul Lake
Breakfast. Transfer from the Village of Kochkor to the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan Son Kul. On the way to the lake we will have lunch. Son Kul Lake is the highest altitude lake in Kyrgyz Republic that is situated 3013 meters high above sea level and surrounded by mountains. From the olden times the Kyrgyz herders from the nearby areas come to the lake to use it as a pastureland. Around the lake it will be possible to see numerous yurts. These are collapsible nomadic dwellings that are made of wood and covered with felt. Yurts carcass is built without nails. You will be free to explore and enjoy the virgin nature of the lake and its surroundings after our arrival. Dinner and overnight are in the yurts.
Day 6: Son Kul (3013m. above sea level)
After breakfast that is served at 9 o'clock in the morning you will have a spare time at Son-Kul Lake that will give you the opportunity to discover its nature on your own. Optionally, you can ride along the lake on a horse, or just relax on the lake's shore and admire the calm nature of the environs. Your lunch will be served at 2 p.m. This day you will also see also the ancient petroglyphs - carvings on the stones, as well as the shamans' ritual stones. This day gives you a great chance to understand better the nomadic way of life and magnificent culture. Dinner will be served in the nomadic houses - yurts. This night you spend in yurts like a nomad.
Day 7: Son Kul - Bishkek
We start our trip back to Bishkek city (the capital of Kyrgyzstan) after breakfast that will be served at 8 a.m. In Bishkek you will have a sightseeing tour. You will visit many places of interest including the ceremonial heart of Bishkek - Ala-Too Square, the History Museum, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square), National philharmonic, Osh Bazaar, The Kyrgyz Museum of Fine Arts. Lunch. You will be given a separate program that lists, and describes briefly the all places. A goodbye dinner is served at 7 o'clock in the evening. Overnight is in the Hotel****.
Day 8: Bishkek - Europe
At the time that was arranged previously according to your flight details your guide will meet you in your hotel to accompany you to the International Airport of Manas.
